‘I’D SAY A LOT OF PEOPLE WANT LIVER’: Planned Parenthood doctor appears to discuss selling fetus organs in undercover video — SEE IT0
A Planned Parenthood doctor appears to discuss fetus body parts sales with undercover anti-abortion activists posing as buyers in a video released Tuesday.
“I’d say a lot of people want liver,” the pro-choice health care provider’s senior director of medical research, Dr. Deborah Nucatola, apparently tells the masked pro-lifers while sipping red wine and noshing on salad in the 9-minute video.
The Center for Medical Progress produced the highly-edited video of the purported July 2014 lunch meeting in Los Angeles, calling on viewers to “Hold Planned Parenthood accountable for their illegal sale of body parts” on Tuesday.
Pro-life proponents pounced on the video as the latest evidence of wrongdoing at Planned Parenthood, but the nation’s largest provider of reproductive health and its supporters immediately denounced the footage as misleading.
The actors ask at one point, “How much of a difference can that actually make, if you know kind of what’s expected, or what we need?”
“It makes a huge difference,” Nucatola answers. “I’d say a lot of people want liver. And for that reason, most providers will do this case under ultrasound guidance, so they’ll know where they’re putting their forceps.
She adds, “We’ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I’m not gonna crush that part, I’m gonna basically crush below, I’m gonna crush above, and I’m gonna see if I can get it all intact.”
