Sarah Palin’s husband Todd back home ‘on the couch’ recovering from snowmobile crash injury, she says

Sarah Palin’s husband Todd is out of the hospital recovering at their family’s Alaska home from his severe injuries in a snowmobile crash, she said Thursday.

Todd, 51, suffered a collapsed lung, fractured ribs, and a broken clavicle and shoulder blade in the March 13 crash about 70 miles north of the Palins’ hometown of Wasilla.

Palin, the former Alaska governor and Republican vice presidential nominee, canceled one campaign event then appeared at another on behalf of current Republican presidential front-runner Donald Trump the day after Todd’s wreck

“He’s in a good place — on the couch — insisting if there’s any good season for injury, it’s now,” Sarah Palin said in a statement posted on her Facebook page Thursday afternoon. “He’s got a great heart … to go along with two inflated lungs now, metal holding bones together, and stitched up epidermis that makes him appreciate good health more than ever.”

Palin posted photos of her husband in his hospital bed with her sleeping next to him and then back home with their son Trig. She has said one or more fellow snowmachiners who found Todd ailing at the crash scene “provided critical help that night.” The couple thanked well-wishers who have reached out to them from around the country.
